MODULAR SPECIALIST, MAC ZERO, SCORES ISO CERTIFICATION
County Tyrone modular building specialist, Mac Zero has just been awarded ISO 9001: Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001: Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, following a rigorous certification process with the gold standard of certification bodies, UKAS Accredited Auva Certification.
Launched just 18 months ago, Mac Zero has achieved the certification in an impressive time frame, largely due to the Founders’ wealth of experience in building and manufacturing. Siblings, Conor McAvoy and sister, Orla McAvoy-Corr, are former directors of the McAvoy Group in Dungannon, and from when they launched Mac Zero, set about creating a progressive business with robust structures and processes.
“Although a start-up company less than two years ago, from the moment Conor and I started Mac Zero, we did so with the determination and confidence of modular specialists who know modern methods of construction inside out.
“We understand the importance of robust processes and established a trading history with management systems running from our first day, and this is what’s enabled us to achieve ISO certification in a rapid timeframe,” comments Orla McAvoy-Corr, Director of Mac Zero.
ISO certification is internationally recognised and is the stamp of approval for a company’s systems and standards that ensure the quality, safety and efficiency of products, services and systems. ISO certification is often a prerequisite to many tenders, therefore by achieving these standards, a wealth of new tender opportunities are now available for Mac Zero.
Auva Certification is owned by Irish rugby player, Robbie Henshaw; Robbie’s father, Tony Henshaw, and partners, Graham O’Geran (England) and Paula Brady (Ireland), Auva Certification is UKAS accredited, meaning that certification from Auva meets UK and international standards. The company has recently added to its accreditation schedule by becoming one of only seven companies in the UK to provide AS9100 Rev D Quality Management Systems and AS9120 Rev B Aerospace requirements for stockist distributors.
Commenting on Mac Zero’s certification, Paula Brady, COO of Auva Certification Ireland says: “It is clear that the team at Mac Zero are experienced operators with a wealth of experience in management systems which was demonstrated by the successful outcome of our audit. It is commendable for a relatively new company to achieve certification so quickly, and we’re delighted that a wealth of new business possibilities are now open for Mac Zero.”
Offering modular building solutions, including design, manufacturing, groundworks and installation, Mac Zero is a specialist provider with a committed sustainability agenda. The business has already delivered a significant number of contracts including the provision of modular accommodation for sale and hire in conjunction with its Irish partner for the Department of Education.
