Mac Zero constructs 590m² modular classroom block for Bailieborough
PROJECT INFO
Bailieborough Community School in Co. Cavan is benefitting from an additional 590 sqm modular classroom block. Opened in September 1981, Bailieborough Community School was created following the amalgamation of Bailieborough Vocational School and Lourdesville Secondary School.
The growing popularity of the school - which attracts students from Bailieborough, Shercock and Kingscourt - has seen its campus grow in size several times.
This latest extension is a nearly zero-energy building (nZeb), which sits adjacent to the main school building, consisting of two SET rooms, four classrooms, two UAWC’s & WC’s, lobby area and store and an internal platform lift.
The 590 sqm classroom block was manufactured offsite, with the project taking just four months from start to completion. A sustainable building for the future, this highly insulated and airtight modular building has already achieved a ‘best in class’ BER A rating.
